Why do you think Instagram is such an important channel for creative people in the handicrafts sector?
Instagram and especially Instagram Stories are much closer to the Follower than Pinterest. Especially in the stories you can show super easy e.g. a manual in several steps or take the customer behind the scenes of his business.
What can the visitors of your workshop learn?
The workshop is a practical extension of my book "Knit Happens-Stricken mit Susi Strickliesel", which will be published on 19 February 2019. There I give a lot of social media tips that are useful for everyone who wants to present themselves online, no matter in which niche they are. My workshop is aimed at Instagram beginners who want to learn step by step how to use Instagram and the stories for their marketing. It doesn't matter if they want to knit, crochet, make pottery or even promote their business.
What is your personal favorite social media channel?
I am absolutely #teaminstagram www.instagram.com/susistrickliesel
How important is editorial planning for a successful Instagram Channel?
An editorial plan is the be-all and end-all for an interesting instagram channel. I usually plan my posts a week in advance. Especially because I show a lot of different topics like knitting, lifestyle, my musical job and much more, I try to plan the contributions very balanced and also post at certain times.
Your blog has evolved from a knitting blog to a lifestyle blog. Why did it develop that way?
The blog can evolve by chance. I've been concentrating on knitting for years, but since I've been working in the musical business for 20 years, I've shown excerpts from my professional life from time to time. I have received so much positive feedback from my followers that I now regularly take them with me into the world of musicals. Additional topics that all women love: Fashion, accessories, jewellery - what more does a woman want?
