1. Easy to hold
The needle can be held comfortably in one hand, so need not be picked up each time it is required.

2. The narrow part prevents stitches from slipping off the ends of the needle
The middle section of the needle is narrower, and is tapered from circle to square outwards from the middle.

3. Each end of the needle has flat surfaces so that the needle will not roll off the work surface when not in use.


One side of the needle is color coded. The reason for this is that you can distinguish between the picking point and the knitting point of the needle. Also, you can recognize at a glance when the stitches have become twisted.

The point of each end of the needle is different and can be applied according to preference  One end is round and color coded, and the other end is sharp.
