Part of the Japanese name for this product is "En o Tsumugu", which literally translates as building up a relationship that is somewhat preordained by destiny.
"Tsumugu" can also be used to describe two actions; forging close ties, and spinning a thread. 

The frogs ("kaeru" in Japanese) in the case design represent the hope that someone will return home (also "kaeru" in Japanese) safely, while the gentian flowers symbolize the hope that someone will stay healthy forever.
